UNCF EMPOWER ME TOUR OVERVIEW
The UNCF Empower Me Tour (EMT) platform was created to empower a movement
among young people, motivating them toward academic excellence, personal
responsibility and fiscal health through relevant program content and celebrity
engagement. The Tour, in its fourth year, delivers holistic touch points, engaging
young people at crucial life stages through self-efficacy, personal finance, college
readiness and career success messaging.

The UNCF Empower Me Tour launched in the Fall of 2008 in partnership with the Wachovia
Foundation and Hill Harper’s Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, with the express purpose of
encouraging personal and fiscal responsibility. Since inception, the Tour has:
• Expanded content delivery and messaging
• Grown presenter base to a group of over 30 celebrity and national speakers and 100 local
market presenters
• Increased advocacy partner, community alliance and sponsor base by more than 500%
• Provided program to students from more than 65 HBCUs, local Universities and Community
Colleges
• Impacted more than 50,000 students on-site and on-line with more than 2.5 million brand
impressions delivered through pre-event, on-site and post-event promotion
